The made a great product worse! - Several years ago I bought this brand lock as I had done all the research and found it to be the best. When I got my new Macbook, I wanted to get the same lock for it. Apparently, the exact model was replaced by this model. This new model is made cheaply. Gone is fit and finish of the original and the useful sliding button was replaced by a much cheaper one. The part that inserts into the computer appears to also be cheapened. In addition, the part that connects the combination lock to the cable was also made less sturdy. Lastly, even with the spacers they include, the lock seems to have a bit to much space between it and the laptop. I will credit them for one thing, they did maintain the thickness of the cable which is more substantial than competitors. I m returning this dog. The fact is that it seems MOST locks suck. C mon manufacturers, this is not rocket science! Can t you make a great lock for us??

Good product - I have a mac book and the lock works just fine. At first I had trouble getting the lock to stay in the security slot, but realized if you turn the combo dial then it stays in place. Great for locking computer at work, school or library.

Excellent! - I have had excellent results - I had a break in at my dorm. Everything stolen except my laptop. They tried to pry it out, left some scuffs but the lock wouldn t budge. I found out that this lock is one of the few that actually is made out of steel in the anchoring component unlike many. Highly recommend.

Fatal Flaw? Detachable without key in 1 to 2 minutes - Not sure if it s just my lock or if this is true for all locks of this model,but I found out myself a few months after purchasing that quickly shaking the lock will loosen the attachment pin joining the lock to the cable to the point where the pin can be removed with your fingernails or it just falls out completely. With a bit of practice, the shaking technique can be very quick - you can loosen the pin, so detaching the lock from the cable, in under 1 or 2 minutes. The lock stays securely in place on the computer but obviously if its detached from the cable, the computer is now free for the person employing the shaking technique to take. I m going to see if I can get a refund from the company about this.

Great lock! - I purchased this lock about a month ago. This is a very good quality lock and was easy to install. I would buy this in the future.
